Wi-Fi access point installation in Nashville

Wi-Fi that reaches the back of the building usually means more access points on real cable. We run the cable, mount the APs and walk the space to check coverage.

Visits are $99, credited toward your job if you hire us.

What's included

  • A Cat6 run to each access point location, powered over PoE from your switch.
  • Mounting on drop ceilings, hard ceilings or walls, square and neat.
  • UniFi, Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus and other brands. Your gear or ours.
  • Getting the access points online with whoever manages your network, whether that's your IT team, your MSP or you.
  • A walk-through with a phone or laptop to check signal in the rooms that matter.
  • Photos, a list of each AP and the switch port it's on, and labels at both ends.

Why wired access points

Mesh units that talk to each other over the air are fine for a small house. In an office, a restaurant or a long building, each hop costs speed, and walls, coolers and metal shelving get in the way. Access points on their own cable each get a full connection back to the switch, so the Wi-Fi holds up when the place is busy.

New runs are priced like any other drop. See Cat6 installation for how that works.

How pricing works

Every job starts with a $99 site visit. If you hire us for the work, the full $99 is credited toward the job.

We look at where the access points need to go and how the cable gets there, then quote the job. If you're replacing old APs in the same spots on existing cable, it's usually quicker and costs less.

Questions

How many access points do we need?

It depends on the building, the walls and how many people are on Wi-Fi at once. We'll walk the space at the site visit and suggest a count and locations.

Do you supply the access points?

We can, or we can install the ones you or your IT provider already bought.

Do you configure the Wi-Fi network?

If your IT provider manages the network, they handle the settings and we handle the physical install. If there's no IT provider, we can get the access points adopted and online with you there.

Can you mount on a hard ceiling?

Yes. Hard ceilings take more time to fish cable through, and that's reflected in the quote.
